Q: What will happen at my treatment?
A: We will work through a consultation sheet together so that a profile of your overall health can be established, this will include medical  history, allergies, diet etc.  Once the consultation is finshed you will be asked to sit in a very comfortable reclining chair where you will be supported by various support cushions to allow you to lie in a comfortable position for the length of the treatment.  Shoes and socks should be removed and you will be offered a blanket if you feel cold either at the beginning or anytime throughout the treatment.  A choice of soothing music will be offered to you or for those women who are in the later stages of pregnancy birth visulisation cd's are also offered.  The treatment I offer works with both feet at the same time which is very relaxing and creates a seemless and soothing treatment.  I work from the top of the foot to the bottom and will adjust the pressure to suit each individual.  At the end of the treatment you will be offered a glass of water and once you are ready to be sat upright we will go through the treatment together and discuss any questions you have.
Q: Can reflexology be dangerous if I am pregnant?
A: Many women worry about the risk of miscarriage in the early months of pregnancy and if you are concerned then it would be advisable to wait until your 1st trimester has passed.  If there is a viable foetus it is extremely difficult to dislodge it, miscarriage is a natural occurrence and is usually caused by chromosomal abnormalities in the foetus (98%).  If there is a risk of foetal loss due to habitual miscarriage often women find that reflexology can help her become more balanced and increase the possibility of her being able to maintain the pregnancy.  Should you have any questions or concerns it is advisable to discuss this fully with me on the phone.
